Pros and cons of sex education early for children

Sex education early for children problems is a problem that is still considered by the Government and parents today, most parents assume sex education early for children is a thing that is considered taboo for discussion and something that is not a priority in education, and parents better avoid the talks. Because parents are still contended with talk about sex as if inviting parents or kids want to do it. But the high of cases related with crime/sexual abuse until transmitted diseases, especially among teenagers. Schools and parents played a crucial role in implementing effective sex education for the growth of the child. Various studies show that sex education in school is very effective to prevent a teen to experiment about sex. Sex education also encouraged teens to protect themselves from sexual acts inappropriate.
According to the WHO, sex education should be delivered in children aged 12 years and over. The current estimated 34% of people with HIV are at the age group of 12 to 19 years. But behind it all, sex education is still reaping the pros and cons are:


Pros :
  • Sex education in the school can help a students to understanding what the impact of sex education in their lives.
  • Sex education can also answer a question that has occurred in their minds about their body and hormonal changes.
  • Children are very curious about gender related things in the other. Education can help them understand the difference and keep their desire to explore things smelling of sex by way of direct experimentation.
  • Education can estrange children from crimes/sexual abuse which lately often occur.
  • Children will understand about Sex transmitted diseases both in terms of causes as well as its effects. 
  • Education can changes children into adulthood and responsibility in maintaining their sexual health.
Cons :
  • Most of the teachers are given the task of teaching sex education on the students do not understand about the nature of sex education itself. This is very dangerous because it can create the wrong students receive information and ultimately quite silly deeds that will occur later in the day.
  • Students are still ashamed of sex material in learning and in the end the subject matter could be ridicule between students.
  • Many schools that carry out sex education with extra-curricular model not in the material of the core curriculum. Finally a lot of students who are not interested in following.
  • Sex education in school may be contrary to religion and certainly will give rise to different interpretations of the scientific and religious side so that needs to be discussed by the experts of each before enacted. And the conclusion is Sex education is an effort of teaching, awareness, and the giving of information about sexual problems are very important and very good if applied in children early on. by providing an understanding of the sex education of children will be more tuned in to the various conditions regarding sex mainly on himself and other individuals nearby. Besides sex education can open a positive insight into the children and prevent themselves from various threats of crime and sexuality.
