Pro and Con of Homeschooling

Homeschooling is one of the choices that every parents can choose to educate their children at home instead at public school, but there are pros and cons about to educate the children with homeschooling. The homeschooling movement began growing in the 1970s, when some popular authors and researchers, such as John Holt and Dorothy and Raymond Moore, started writing about educational reform. They suggested homeschooling as an alternative educational option. According to the National Home Education Research Institute, there are now more than two million children being homeschooled in the U.S., with the percentage rapidly increasing by 7 percent to 15 percent each year. Homeschooling is legal in all 50 states and in many foreign countries. The parents who are pro with  home school their children have many reasons, one of it is the flexibility of educational, homeschooling parents have the ability to conform the education plan to their child’s unique interests and learning styles. The children who are well in a hands-on environment with one-on-one instruction and would have difficulty following classroom rules. As far as curriculum is concerned, Indonesia have stricter regulations of what must be obeyed and it more dominating in environment and beliefs of the real education its self. In the other hand, the parents who con or against it have different idea, they educate their children at school because they want their children can mastering more than one lesson so they can get more knowledge than the one that their children only interest about, and they do not really care about the learning style that their children like and also follow the rules of curriculum so they can easily to adjust them self in dominating environment. So in my opinion, parents have great flexibility in exercising educational freedom, there is no rule said parents should educate their children at home instead school or otherwise, it depend on what parents think which is the best one education for their children.
